Sunday, a couple of friends and I left Batesville Arkansas (north central part of the state) at 10:00 am by 10:30 we were at the shop of Eric Barnes Blade Smith to look at his new shop. Our goal for the day was to end up at Michael Olive shop on the other side of Mt. View Ar. I guess the reason for this info is to let you know how lucky we are in my part of the state to have access to so many good makers. With in an hour and a half I can be at the shop of 7 Master Smith's shop, several Journeyman Smith and one the only father and son Master Smith shops in Center Ridge. I am not sure what kind of reception you receive when you just drop in on maker while he's hard at work, but ever one we saw Sunday stoped what they were doing visited with us. We werre late geeting to Mike's shop, but he was happy when we bought 6 of his knives. I only purchased one, a fighter made with 1084 steel , with a satin finish. Blade length is 6"x1/4"x1 1/4". The overall length is 11". The guard is brass with a thin yellow spacer and a thick brass spaccer, and the handle was Cocobola. Michael doe's not have a web site yet,
