I have a 6 coming.
I really like the idea of the bow drill divot in the handle of the 5.
I was thinking of drilling a divot in the 6 but...
Will the linen micarta handle of the 6, handle the divot as well as the canvas micarta?
Will drilling a hole in the linen micarta void handle warranty or would you prefer I didn't do it at all?
Thank in advance guys.

I cheated. I swapped the handles of my 5 with the handles of my 6, same size.

I found this out due to see a post by Texastonydobbs. (Thanks again Tony!)

Is it not possible to buy the handles separately ?

No because the handles are fit to each blade. That's how they get that perfect fit on them every time. Even swapping scales between two identical knives, sometimes the scales won't fit just right.

If you really want it just try and build your own scales its really not that hard. Iv done a few kitchen knives, while there not the same its still the same concept. All you really need is a dremmel and a drill. Other tools are helpful but those two can finish the job.

Out on a limb here but I don't think your modification would be a dumba$$ move that would effect the warranty. There have been people recutting the jimpping on their izulas to get a better grip or a better striker even after Jeff said it was designed and made the way it was made to reduce the chance for broken blades. So I would think if you are genuine in your modification you should be fine in the warranty area.

"No Questions Asked Warranty. If you break it, we will replace it. Warranty is lifetime and transferable. In other words, we warranty the knife no matter how many times it's been traded, sold or given away."

Just don't drill too deep and you should be fine. Good luck and post up your results. I am interested to see how it works.
