I've been eyeing and admiring Mike's super clean work here for the past few years. About two years ago, I got to meet Mike at a hammer-in and found him to not only be a great knife maker but also a great teacher and an all around class act, and I looked forward to being able to order a knife from him. About a year ago, I was finally in a position to do so and I got on Mike's order list right away. We talked loosely about what I wanted at that time, and he penciled me in for a 'ladder pattern integral with Ironwood or Koa.'

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I got the call that my turn had arrived. He asked me if I had changed my mind about what I wanted, and I said 'maybe...are you working on anything new or different or interesting?' He sent me a photo of a raw-forged integral recurve fighter in a new damascus pattern that he had never done before and I was immediately drawn to it's graceful lines.

Since it was already in progress, it was finished and delivered very quickly. The completed knife is beautiful, and I'm thrilled and honored to own it. We both took some photos, but neither do the piece justice...it is stunning in the hand.

Specs:
- Full tang integral recurve fighter
- 8" blade / 12 3/4" OAL
- Tiled 1080/15N20 4-bar W's
- Domed Fine (.999) Silver pins
- Desert Ironwood Burl scales

Nice Score Paul I saw Mikes pics of the steel when he first etched it and it looks even better now that it is done.

Congratulations Paul . Mike does some very clean work. He is one of the makers I'd like to own a piece from.

No matter what I had in mind for an order from him, I don't think I could have passed that one up!

Great piece!

Paul- If it was a knife from any other maker, I'd probably give you a ration of $@*! for buying a knife instead of more equipment... :p But you simply cannot go wrong buying a knife from my good friend Mike Quesenberry!!!

Thanks everyone. Mike does great work for sure, and he is also a pleasure to do business with (not to mention he has been extremely generous with his time when it comes to knife making advice.)

Nick, I've been doing my fair share recently of acquiring more equipment as well... :)

I took a couple more photos this morning that turned out a bit better than my first ones did. They still don't do it justice, but a bit different look at it anyway...

Paul,
This is a very nice knife. The feel in the hand is just perfect. The Damascus is killer. Mikes execution is spot on as usual. I know because I got to hold it a few weeks back. Mike was over this way and we got together for lunch. We were sitting in a restaurant looking at bowies and fighters. Not sure what the rest of the patrons were thinking. What a cool way to spend lunch.
