Big Rick asked that I post his latest acquisition from Mike Quesenberry. This beautiful dagger was one of Mike's Master Smith test knives and is marked "JS" but everything about it screams Master Smith which Mike attained with it along with others at this year's Blade Show. It is an absolutely perfect knife and was a real pleasure to get to put the leather on it.

The sheath is full Brown Shark skin both front and back along with a shark retention strap. The stylized chevron is brown Lizard and the sheath is fully leather lined built around a veg. tan cow hide "frame". The goal here was to create some simple elegance with out competing with the beauty of the knife.

Rick nice score. Paul you have treated this one well. "As you always do" How many makers testing for MS would put 2 daggers in to be juried. I had the pleasure of looking over this one and as all of Mike's knives it is flawless.

Thanks for sharing

Nice score Rick I had the chance to fondle this dagger and its a beauty, what a great combo

Every part of that is beautiful. That brown shark skin is excellent. Thanks for sharing it!

Very nice, I like the brown shark skin as well as the lizard complementing it! Also a sick lookin blade too, goes great together.

I love this knife. This reminds me, my Quesenberry blade needs one of those sheaths someday!

It looks good on the brown. Black would have been the obvious safe choice but this looks better to me.

that knife is simply off the fuckin hook. Paul, your sheath is a perfect compliment in its subdued nature to such a bedazzling blade!

Thank you all for the kind words.

Paul, you did a fantastic job as always.

And thank you Rick for your continued patronage. I'm glad your getting one of the five test knives.

Mike

An absolutely gorgeous knife with the perfect understated sheath. That Damascus must be incredible to see in person!

Firstly I would like to thank Mike for making such a fabulous knife and letting me have one of his MS test knives to add to the many fantastic Quesenberry knives I now have in my collection.

Secondly to Paul for changing my mind from what I initially wanted to producing an elegant sheath that didn't in anyway compete with the beauty of the knife. Paul you were right, as always ! Thanks again guys.

WOW! What a great pair. The knife is a work of art and the sheath is sooooo right.

Congratulations, Big Rick and kudos to both artisans who made this set happen.

I was lucky enough to see this knife at Blade. It is a work of art produced by a knife maker who is destined to be one of the iconic knifemaker/bladesmiths of our time.
Now it is complimented by a sheath from the finest sheath maker on the planet. What could be better.

Rick, I am hugely jealous mate! Enjoy……….:)
