A few months back I posted a bowie Mike Jr. made for me as part of a 5 knife deal. Make a nice one and I will buy a JS test, JS stamp, MS test, & MS stamp knife. Well he hit that one out of the park with "Ruthless". Since my expectations had been exceeded at Blade I continued on with our deal. Here is the JS test knife that Michael delivered to me at Blade 2010. He was of course awarded his JS stamp and additionally the 2010 George Peck Award with this piece.

*8" blade of 1084, 13" overall. Nickel silver guard and frame with mammoth ivory scales. This is a real clean looking knife and well deserving the award. Michael is making some great knives right now and I sure look forward to the other three. I want to thank Chuck Ward as always for the great photos.

Sweet fighter
Clean and smooth from the tip to the butt
The fluted guard and bolster makes it look elegant

And great pictures

mohd.

Such lean and crisp lines on this piece - it's what first attracted me to it. Super clean finish and gorgeous ivory don't hurt, either. Congrats to you on a fine addition, and to Michael on the JS / Peck combo.

Such a great piece, this one inspired me to place an order with Michael for a fighter while at the Blade show. Congrats Jon and Michael, thanks for the beautiful pics.

Jon, any way you could post larger pictures? These just barely overlap my 24" monitor screen:rolleyes:

Jon doesn't know how to downsize....a common problem in the US.;) When I was at Blade I was at Subway for a sandwich and a drink. They asked if I wanted to "supersize". Stupid me I said yes......I reckon I got a sandwich about a foot long and a drink about a gallon or so:D;)

But seriously. Really clean looking knife, nice lines and I love the ivory. Mike is really talented.

Congrats to both you and Michael.
Beautiful knife - as if we would expect anything less from either of you.

Damn, Jon, if you have any problems displaying this current "hoard" of knives - let me know - I could always make the trip south to ease the burden :D

Seriously, this is a STUNNING addition to the ever growing collection.
Enjoy it in good health!

Jon,

Congratulations on another great knife from Michael. It looks like you made a great deal to buy 5 of his knives. The first two are outstanding. I'm sure the next three will also be special.

Mike Jr. has really hit his stride in the last year or so.

I think this is the same knife I saw in another thread (about Blade Show) that inspired me to make my latest bowie/ fighter:eek:

Oh Yeah!
Jon - That's a great arrangement you have with Mike. Hopefully reading about it here will stimulate others to try some creative win-win situations with makers.
The Peck Award is icing on the cake but I bet you'd've been well pleased either way. Mike's knives are excellent stand-alone pieces - key for any collector wanting to partner with a maker. Very cool!
I agree about Chuck's photos - wow! Beautiful.
