I have been thinking of suggestions for ways to generate profit for Bladeforums. Coming here every day is kind of a mini-vacation and I want to work to keep it viable.
I know that you have stated that you are against charging the private citizens for using this forum,and that makes sense.
I suggest a sustaining member or patron status for those of us who feel they come here enough to warrant investment.All it would take is for you to assign an amount to achieve patron status,and maybe add the word patron to our profiles,instead of senior member,etc. If it works,great! If not,or it takes a long time to build up, you have not made a capital outlay. I know I have bought several knives from BF but I also understand that helps only a little,because of costs and related problems.This programs profits would go straight to the operational costs.I would pay $30-40-50 a year to help the cause and the patron status being conferred would be a good way to encourage wide participation.
