Mike is a Man that walks the walk !! I received a RAT 7 today that i had sent mike...When i opened the package and seen the knife i was speechless and for me that is rare.

these pics do not do Mikes work justice...and sharp would be an understatement.

I aproached mike and asked him to make me a knife out of D2 one of my favorites and i described what i wanted and mike suggested that i get a doner knife and let him rework it.

the knife i sent him

How does one go about doing that? That is incredible! Zero convex and got rid of those stupid serrations! I would like to know how someone works on a knife that already has been heat treated. Do they work it at it's current hardness or can it be brought back to a workable hardness. Is that normalized? Annealed? I am a beginner in knifemaking and have only read a few books. I cannot find anyone who will teach me. I tried to get a hold of a guy in Missouri, but he would not return my calls. Another guy has avoided me because he owes me a knife and I can't get anything out of him either.
