Well, now that I've got you here, I wanted to ask you about some knife modifications. I've seen it posted that you have ground the serrations off of several Vaqueros for people on these forums, apparently with good results. I was wondering how much you charge for this service if you still do it. In a few months I may ask you to do it for me, I have a vaquero and the serrations ruin its usefulness. Thanks for looking here to Mike, you're a good guy no matter what anyone says! (if this should be posted somewhere else or you want to communicate via e-mail, just let me know and e-mail me if you want to.)

Just because I talk to myself doesn't mean I'm crazy. What's wrong with getting a second opinion?

I mostly put serrations on knives that do not normally come with them. I have taken serrations off the end curve of a Vaquero with good results. So basically it looks like a combo edge when done.

Is it very hard to do? I'm thinking about getting a dremel tool anyway, do you think I would most likely ruin it trying to take them off or I might actually succeed? It was bought used for $25, so I'm not out a bundle if i do mess it up.

I dremel would probably screw it up. I am not sure but I do not use a dremel. I use a belt sander and a set of sharpening wheels.
