Found this one at the Artisans of Cutlery booth in Atlanta, during BLADE. It was just too cool and too funky to pass up. I know a bunch of people will remember passing it around the dinner table at Bones on Saturday night. The pearl on the reverse side is very unusual - like it has some chocolate in it. Coke bottle shape and some traditional engraving - then this explosive damascus blade with its unique design and grind. It was great to visit with Mike, Tom Ferry, David Lisch and Jon Christensen - the Artisans - and participate in the daily drawings - and just to look at the beautiful work on display. Ha! I told everybody this one was for my wife. That was a lie, of course. ;)

Wow Buddy YOU did a good job catching the life of that knife I had a chance to play with it before it was sold I like how the the bolsters helped bring the damascus and BLP together. sweet little knife

David - You put your finger on it, man. Get that wrong and any knife instantly loses a lot of appeal. Get it right and it'll make people smile when they see it. Mike got it right.

I lazily tossed it off as 'traditional engraving' (though it is remeiscent of some mid-nineteenth century Bowie era embellishments I've seen) but it's really much more than that - in fact it's critical.

How 'bout the back spring and positive action on that little folder - not a wimpy knife or a novelty item in the least. It's small but stout - like a Terrier dog.

That is a beautiful little knife and a really excellent shot. The damascus makes a big statement in a very small space. Congrats.

Hey Buddy,
Again I want to thank you for your support of myself and the Artisans group. I'm glad you really like the knife. Didn't know how I was going to pull the blade and pearl together until I decided to do that engraving. I took a risk and apparently it worked.
Thanks to the rest of you for you kind comments.

Michael
