I've been eyeing the P-38 model by Mike Vagnino at different purveyors and in different materials on the web for months. When I recently saw this one on Neil Ostroff's TNK site I couldn't restrain myself any longer.

3 3/4" closed, CPM 154 blade, Chad Nichols stainless damascus bolster, titanium liners and clip and some real nice Sambar stag.

It's smooth as silk when opening and locks up nice and tight. It's a real handfull and it's going in/on my pockect as often as I can carry it. To top it off Mike Vagnino is an ABS Mastersmith so I get to carry a Mastersmith knife everyday!

First pic is Neils. I forgot to take one closed and I always want to see a closed pic, so I've added one.

That is a beautiful knife. I personally would prefer something other than sanbar stag. (or any other.) I am glad that you are very happy with it!!

I appreciate the kind words T.K.C. Even if you aren't fond of stag. :)

I've enjoyed looking at all the wonderful knives you have shared with us.

He does a great job on those P38's and that it a beauty..

I have a D/A version of the P38 with jig bone and love it.

I spent a few hours at Mike's shop today. The man is a true master at what he does. A real perfectionist. I thought I was a perfectionist but this guy makes me look sloppy. He's a real nice guy and a great teacher too. Hopefully soon I'll be making liner locks with his guidance.

Ray and I are taking some lessons from Mike. There is stuff stitting on his bench that is nice, but has some tiny flaw somewhere that he knows about, so he won't sell it! His work is perfect. I have really learned alot about knives being around Mike. We got to take him to lunch, and just to sit down and listen to him talk about knives is a real treat. I would love to own a peice of his work...
