Mikov - Since 1794 ( Wow )
I never heard of Mikov before !
Anyways , I was surfing Knives on the internet and I spied this knife ..

It's built tight , uses liner locks for the knife blade and saw .
Saws lock is tight and the blades lock is a bit of a slop fit .

I'm a little confused now , can I post about this knife on this forum ?
Anyway's , possibly a review to follow ! ( possibly )

So it's time to cut rope !
The factory edge was ????????? , so the knife got a fresh Guided edge to 600 grit Diamond ( 180 / 320 / 600 )
Resulting in a 350 slice rolled edge ( fail ) .
As best as I know , the steel is 420 .. My files say 55/50HRC or 55HRC file Bites & 50HRC file Skates .
Yes the edge did strop back strongly ..

Slicing wood ! The blade is flexy ! And as such , sometimes deflects off the wood or digs .
It's not so bad as to dig deep as it flexes , but it does bite a little harder than one may like ..
Still , it does slice nice curly bits for starting a fire .

The wood saw is ......... average ! It's not horrible and it's not great ! It's average ......
The spine was ........... Yeah , I reground the spine a little so that it would scrape wood ..
That bushcrafty knife really wants to scrape wood with the spine . As the wood scrapped is kind of tissue thin , and takes to ferro much better than thicker slices .
Especially if there is any moisture in the wood .

Ferro . The spine of the saw did throw ferro nicely ( after a quick re grind ) . I did not test it before the re grind .

$60 Bananas delivered to my door ( Australian Bananas ) .
Did I get ripped = No .
350 slices from 420 is rather good , stropped back strong !
Saw works ( could be better ) , and after tweaking the spine scrapes wood and ferro .
Hmmmm , if it scratches an itch = Great !
But , perhaps the folks in Switzerland have the SAK down to a fine art ?
I had an itch that needed scratching , but if you are in the market I would suggest a long hard look at Victorinox .
No I don't regret the purchase as I got decent value for my money . It's just that the saw was so Average !

I see them on eBay in the $25.00 range. With $15.00 for shipping from Poland. So I will pass on one.
