Hi there,

this is my first post here on BFC so I´d like to introduce myself. I´m 32 yrs old, husband and father...and knifemaker.
I hope you guys will like my knife designs and if not - please leave a comment and tell me what you´d like to see changed.
If you like it you´re also more than welcome to leave a comment. :D

I thought it would be a good idea to start with a small neck knife - I called it Milan. It´s small, carrying doesn`t attract attention and it´s ideal for the common cutting tasks.

Here are some data for you:
OAL: 14.5 cm / 5.7"
Blade length: 7 cm / 2.75"
Thickness: 4 mm / 1.57"
Material: Niolox a.k.a. SB1 ( 1.4153.03)

And here are the first prototypes:

Tell me what you´re thinking about it!

All the best!

Very awesome little knife. Cool shape and very clean grinds.

What's the price for one? And can you do a right hand grind?

Thank you @Everglade Blade and @evanPGH! I appreciate your feedback!
The Milan is grinded on both sides, so you can use it the left or right hand (no chisel grind). The pictures perspective does not show this in a good way...I attached another picture.IMG_0300_custom.jpg

@evanPGH: Thank you for your interest. I´ll send you a PM.

Welcome to bladeforums! I really like your necker so far, but since I make my own small edc with a tanto it makes me a sucker for knives like this. Will you be putting handles on it? I can see why not if you want to keep it low profile. Some jimping on the top would be nice but you have that groove on the top that kind of substitutes anyways.

@AddictedToGear: Thank you very much for your comment and your ideas to improve the design.

First I thought about putting handles on the Milan (see the attached picture of the first drawing).

But I didn´t realize it after building the basic knife. It fitted too good in my pocket without handles on it and had enough grip so I decided to leave it that way (which does not mean, that a customer can´t order it with handles on it... :)).
I also thought about jimpings like I´m doing it on my Scafo/Scafo II

but the radius of the groove is small enough, so the thumb is supported in a good way. But I´ll give it a try on a future milan and post some pics when I get to it.

Thanks again.

All the best!
Ruben
