Military back pocket carry

Does anyone carry their military in the rear right pocket and sandwich it between their wallet and the blade up against the pocket seam to keep it from opening? How does it work for you? I usually only carry tip up for the reason that the pocket seam help keeps the knife closed in pocket and since the military is only tip down position this is the only way I'd fully trust carrying it.

I have little kids that like to jump and climb all over me, so the knife has to be as safe as possible, especially with such a long blade as the military.

It's probably still a ways off, but the Military 2 will be tapped for all 4 clip positions (at least based on the prototype).

I know! I'm excited but also thinking back pocket tip down carry might actually make it easier to deploy since after I pull it out my thumb should be right on the thumb hole and not requiring any readjusting of my grip as sometimes longer knives require when tip up

I carried a Military in the front corner of my right back pocket every day for a dozen years, generally with a pair of DMT Diafold sharpeners next to it (my wallet is left back pocket). I've never had one open carried that way. In fact, every knife that has ever come open in my pocket and cut me has been tip up only, hence my preference for tip down carry.

I guess I could always switch my wallet to left side, never even thought about that! 😂 One last question, is the clip on a military as durable as a paramilitary? Being in the back pocket may subject it to snagging and rubbing on things more often or no?

I frequently carry mine that way. Usually when I want other stuff in my pockets.

I catch my millie clips on all kind of stuff and have never bent one out. I swore a few times after feeling how hard itncaught that ide have a bet clip and never did

Are you carrying tip up in the back pocket?

I carried my Millie tip down in my back pocket...until I got out of the car and found it had cut through my pants (I didn't check the seat - it was a rental). I had probably carried it a dozen times or less when that happened; and I don't think I've pocketed it since.

Military is great design, but I prefer mid/back locks <Police> because of the stronger closed blade bias. I'm looking forward to scoring a Stretch XL for this reason, too.

But yeah, when I rocked my Cruwear Military, I carried it exactly as you described.

I'm referring to you getting cut by tip up. How were you carrying those knives?
Right front pocket clipped, right cargo pocket clipped, inside jacket pocket clipped, loose in left front pocket, dangling on a keychain...shall I go on?

I have carried tip down, right back pocket as you described for the last 30+ years. A benchmade AFCK for 20, and now I rotate between a Stretch and a Carra Carra. It shares the pocket with either a tri-fold or these days a minimalist wallet. After carrying this way, with the spydie hole right at your thumb when pulling the knife from your pocket I could never warm to all the fidgeting required to open when carried any other way. It's also much easier to access your knife when crouched down working on something. No need to straighten up to retrieve it from the front pocket. You just reach back with your right hand and it's easily accessible. Note/caution - I tried this with my PM2 and for some reason the tip would sometimes open just enough to cut my denim when placing in back into my pocket, so after this happening twice in a matter of weeks of getting it, I never carried it again.
