--The Millie's been one of my favorite models for years. There were times that I gave some thought to converting one of the several I owned/still own to tip up, but I continued to put it off and never did go through with it. In the end, I agree with our friend

that tip down is what makes the Military the Military. My only real concern when considering going tip up was that I'm a lanyard guy and it didn't make any sense to have a tail in the bottom of my pocket. The thing with such a long-handled, tip-down Spydie, though, is that one's thumb is right at the blade hole for easy deployment when pulling the knife from pocket, as opposed to having to walk one's hand down the handle to be able to flick the blade out.
I was pretty stoked, though, when the Military 2 was announced and waited a long time on pre-order to get my CruCarta M2. I went right to tip up with the clip and am very pleased to have this newer alternate version--tip up with the compression lock and an added, usable lanyard. I really dig the full liners on this version too. Honestly, though, as much as I like it, the CC M2 strikes me more as being a larger ParaMilitary 2 than a Millie especially when it's side-by-side with my CC PM2.
I've still got my "true Millies"--the Knifeworks green G10 liner lock in 204P, the other KW exclusive CF/Ti frame lock in S90V, and the fluted Ti (both sides) in S30V which is possibly the smoothest knife I own. Those three will stay just as they are and I'll probably end up with another M2 variant at some point along the way.
BTW, I don't recall there being a fluted CF model, though there've been a lot of versions over the years.
