is it me or is the black-coated clip on my one-day old dicam millie much thinner than the satin clip on my ti millie? it really looks thinner and the knife leaves my pocket hem with a louder "click" than does the ti millie. what gives? i've always thought that the pocket clip was the most over-engineered part of the military.

I removed clips from my Ti and G-10 Millies and the satin clip on the Ti is 0.039 and the black clip is 0.040. The 0.001 difference is most likely due to the black finish.

I hope you didn't get one of the really good fake Military's floating around.

i was afraid of that but the seller at the bay has more than 50,000 testimonials. the work on the blade tang area looks rougher than with my two ti millies but machining on the concave surface is good and the liner lock activates well. there's just a little rough feeling at the start of opening. i can't do the middle finger underside opening like crimson tide shooter does in his slicing videos (i can do it with my forefinger though, i've small hands.) blade looks ok (looks like it was ground by the same guy who did my ti millie.)

it's just the clip. that's what stands out.

The sound of a steel clip hitting G10 and Ti are very distinct. The coating on the camo Military will increase the thickness to a small extent.

Depending on the pants or shorts I wear, the sound of the clip will be louder or sometimes even inaudible.

Is the exposed part of the Liner Lock stonewashed or blasted?

The stonewashed liner seems to be the easiest way to spot the new Military copies.

tough question. it looks blasted. no uneven, fibrous texture one sees with stone-washed. nah, this baby looks for real. even the clip, though slightly thinner (i'm sure of that), has the same markings on the edges caused by stamping as my satin ones.

it's a neat knife to be sure. it could possibly wean me away from my fascination for the ti millie. now i understand the allure of the original design. it feels no heavier than my endura, and opens fast and secure. as elegant a design as one can imagine.

You are just now discovering the g10 Millie? Awesome.
This model has an inlaid steel liner under the consequently thin G10 layer of the scale. Depending on the tension of the springy clip it's going to thwack the G10 and set up a sharpish vibration which you hear. I think a thicker layer of G10 wouldn't resonate as much. I bent the clip on mine, after re-bending it with a little more tension it seems to make a higher pitched click. The Ti one you have............. drool......... Is going to have a totally different resonance which probably also would change with clip tension.
