I know the Millie 2 is in the works, but I have an idea for a rolling change to the current model. It should have a bushing pivot like the PM2. That would take a lotnf the play out of the pivot, make it smoother and probably solve most of the issues with centering.

I'll pass...I've never had centering issues with any of my Millies and they have all been/are as smooth as any of my PM2s that I've had. If you really want to improve it add a ceramic pivot set up akin to the Microtech Delta...then you'd have something.

I'll pass. IMHO the current bushing system is not well-matched to current production methods and tolerances. Some P2 and M2 knives have come out of the factory too thick to eliminate side to side play.

I wonder if thicker washers would help eliminate side to side bladeplay...

I also would vote against the implementation of the stepped pivot on a Military. In the two Para 2's I've had, both have had some side to side blade play that could not be adjusted out. I generally prefer my knives very tight and non-flickable--most people would probably complain that they are too tight.

RevDevil, I keep meaning to look around and pick up some washers that are slightly thicker than the ones currently on my Para 2. It should fix the issue.

Cynic, I have a M2XL that wobbled side to side. It appears that the problem is that the back spacer is significantly thicker than the blade stock. I've been meaning to try the thicker washers myself, but haven't been able to sit down and look for them.

The second I find out there is a Millie 2 in the works I am maxing out the credit cards to buy as many Militarys (Black G10 S30V) as I can. Sal, please don't mess with perfection. If and only IF I had to change anything it would be bigger torx screws like T8 or bigger. That's it (and that is nit-picking). I sold off every knife I have ever owned (40+, including Sebenza's, Strider's and customs) as soon as I found the Military.

You should save some money for the Military 2, because Sal usually gets it right. You'll probably want one.

Sal mentioned that when the Military 2 comes out, they would continue to run the original concurrently.

I agree with you on this, but in all honesty I personally don't see how it could get better (except for bigger torx screws). I hope the recessed liner lock does not change.

The knife is great as is, but if "improvements" were mandatory, then I would say:
Larger pivot, stand offs with thicker bolts, larger cutting edge.

Well, that's why Sal has such success. He knows how to improve on "perfection."

I suppose the problem isn't the bushing system design but perhaps the tolerances of it in production knives. I really like it in the PM2 and Manix2, but I did have a couple that weren't so great for play or tightness. My EDC PM2 swings freely but has zero play.
