Anyone know if an upgraded standard steel will make its way to the Millie, the was it has for the Para 2 and 3? Can’t find a regular Military in stock anywhere right now, and am also curious when a batch will be hitting dealers, if someone has some insight.

Thanks

I think Spyderco is busy trying to deliver the models promised in past reveals, so much so, it seems the reveal that was scheduled for september is being cancelled or postponed ATM. Spyderco is usually not forthcoming with this or similar type of information and it is hard to assemble a picture about what their factory queue looks like. In general, when they are releasing a certain model, it can be expected other variants of the same model will follow, so they don't have to change the tooling.

So if you have Spy27 or S45VN Millies in mind, my answer is: IDK :-) But it was ages since the last Military with a new steel was released, that's for sure.

At this point of the hobby, I am more interested in new models than different steels and/or handle materials of old models. Frankly, I have learned the differences among s30v, s35v, and s45v etc. are insignificant for the kind of regular folding knives by me.

I have been wondering if they are letting all of the current stock of militaries sell out before they release whatever updated version that is in mind.

Blade steel is not a CQI. That's just material like scale changes.
I was actually annoyed because the S45VN Para 2 and 3 are being marketed as CQI, but the only thing that changed is the blade material. By literal definition, that could count as a quality improvement. However, the previous precedent was mechanical improvements to the build of the model.

My long time favorite Spyderco is the Military, my collection goes back to the mid 1990's.

Does anyone know when they will be back in production schedule,,, all of the online dealers are currently "out of stock",,, would also like to see some new steels offered.

Regards,
FK

I use a web monitor (eg Distill) to track changes in product pages such as the fluted CF Native on spyderco.com.
