Just got this bad boy and found this. The date seems self explanatory but what about the initials?

10-14 is police code for information and TS is for transfer to suzukigs750ez, meaning in order to get more information you would need to send it to me. Lol. Just kidding. I want to say my military is pre 2014 and only has the date, which started in 2009. I have no clue what the letters are, 10-14 is fairly conclusive to the date the blade was made. Maybe it's a batch identifier for qc?

i found out on the spyderco group facebook page that the initials are of the guy who finished and sharpened the knife.

Well then, in May of 2015 MH R did one epic grind job on my s110v pm2. AhThank you sir!

Ah, a way to weed out the sharpeners who don't produce laser like edges lol. I figured they were codes for batches of blades for qc

I'm skeptical about this being true. All of spydercos blades are produced in large batches, and all of the Lazer engraving is completed prior to sharpening and finishing.

That was my EXACT thought as well when I read that. I still hold to my theory that it's a batch marker. Say one sheet of steel produces 200 knives, mark them with a "HM" and all the HM knives are easily identifiable if something arises with a weak steel or something.

Agreed. I think a batch mark is a logical explanation.
