anyone can give me a quick-guide on how to adjust the pivot when sideway blade-play develops on the Military? i'd say simply screw it tighter so the play disappears, but i've heard that the pivot is eccentric and needs 'specialized and expertise treatment'.......?

Let me return a favor.
If it has sideways play and you just want to tighten it, just do it, it won't affect the seating of the pivot pin.
If the liner lock does not engage properly , that's when you make the pivot pin adjustment described in the link below.

Spyderco would certainly prefer you did not try this yourself, and it may very well void the warranty, but it works...
