I thought today, December 7th, was a great day to start this thread. I think it’s appropriate to have a thread in the traditional section on fixed blade military theater knives. I know the term “theater knife” is varied and some say meaningless, but it’s come to be accepted to describe some of the finest and most historic blades our servicemen have used to defend this great nation.

I’ll start out with one of my favorite knives, an original Stone knuckle knife from WWII. In short, Stone was a Navy foundry man in the Pacific during WWII and came up with a great way to meet a demand of the Marines fighting there, they loved the MK II knives issued to them but the leather washer grips could rot off very quickly. Stone cast his functional and distinctive skull knuckle grip on around 300 MK II knives and approximately 10 M3 fighting knives during the war. His surviving knives are some of the most collectable of all WWII era knives.

I don't have any examples in my own collection, but I always find myself admiring others' theater knives, and fondling them at gun show tables.
That's a cool one!

I was told by BRL a few years back that this was a theater knife...

I remember trading a guy for it in the mid-80's, but I don't really know anything else about it.
