What kind of use do you consider "heavy"?
I used my plain edged Military as a small hatchet to chop through a 2x4 with no damage whatsoever to the knife. I did find it necessary to tighten the pivot pin a tiny bit, with a drop of blue Loc-Tite to keep it in place. It took me about 17 minutes to hack through the 2x4, and I'm sure I could do it faster with practice and better technique. When I was done, the knife was still sharp enough to scrape hair. I have not tried any prying with this knife. One thing that impresses me about the Military is the way the blade fits very close to the handle slabs, without any apparent lack of smoothness. Not much chance for lateral blade wobble compared to some other brands/models.
The Military inspires confidence.
