Hey guys! I've been wondering, what knives do other countries militaries (china, uk, germany, etc) use? Do they use knives, or do they have bayonets? What countries have standard issue knives, and what are they? Thanks for your help guys!

You should google really open questions like this. While this site is meant to help and be of assistance, we aren't here to be your encyclopedia.

The Canadian army issues:

Eickhorn Bayonets (model B2005 CAN)
Gerber Multi-Plier 600s
Grohmann # 3 boat knives (although there was some controversy about them switching to a Chinese manufacturer, so I'm not sure what's going on with these now)

....aaaand that's all I know.

This is a site dedicated to talking about knives. If a question like this isn't appropriate here then it's not appropriate anywhere.

They should all use a smatchet...

I use one in my everyday role as a tactical street enforcement officer

no I am a tactical street enforcement officer...I work on the streets of america, ON THE FRONT LINES to protect the innocent...

I think i read somewhere that Marines are issued a Strider.
Someone please correct me if im wrong.

That's good.

Front lines being the mean lines at the convenience stores where beer, smokes, and lotto ticket addicts confront the regular folks just trying to buy a soda? Also the super walmart at 3am.......... seeing that crowd makes me believe in the old..... Never leave home without a smatchet in ones hand. Its rough being on the front lines.

Really? Seems pretty expensive for issue. I've seen emerson state his knives are in special ops pockets at events the like bin laden deal. Have to assume those are private owned knives, not military issue....but I have no idea?

It was developed for a Special Operations unit of the Marine Corps, called Detachment 1. The vast majority of Marines are not issued Striders.

you've got the good old Scheffield Army fixed blade and folding knife, and dozens of different bayonets, the Martindale Golok and Paratrooper from the UK...
