OK, small dilemma here- I've tried 3-in-1 oil, hair clipper oil, and powdered graphite to loosen up the action on my Military. (Original design, 440V blade.) It gets loose for all of 20 mins. and then tightens up again, with all of te oil ending up worked out of the pivot area. Do I have to completly disassemble it to lube it right, or am I doing something else wrong? HELP!!!

Have you tried Tuf-Glide? I use it on my knives, and my Military, and it works great. And the lubrication stays, even after if the carrier solvent dries, so there's no messy run on the pivot area to wipe off.

PS. Whatever you do, do NOT disassemble the Military... something about the factory settings that might get screwed up if you do. Just add the lubrication to the hinges, and give it a workout for the lube to spread.

I used KryTech advanced paraffin lubricant on mine (this is basically the same as White Lightning) and it worked great. The wax seems to last a little longer than a lubricant that stays a liquid, and it is much cleaner. You might try using something like that. Oh and you can get the wax based lubricants at a bike shop. I guess that it is really used on the chains.

I've almost completely switched over to White Lightening, though it doesn't seem to work well on all knives. It works great on my Military though. It definitely drives the crud out of the crevices also.
