Hi everyone!

I'm a newbie to this subforum and I have a few questions. I got a Military 'bout a week ago and she is currently my EDC. Plain edge, S30V steel. I was just wondering what do you guys use for cleaning and lubeing your Spydercos.
Thanks!

I use 3-in-1 oil to clean and lube the pivot. I leave the rest alone, except maybe shooting compressed air in every so often to get pocket lint out, or if I leave it too long and it gets really bad, water does the trick.

I use dish soap and elbow grease.....kept mine running tip top for years...oh and a sharp maker to keep the edge razor sharp.

I like to disassemble mine and polish the pivot area of the blade and the steel liners up to 2000 grit, then lube and put it back together. Makes them very smooth.

I use Tuff-Glide on everything but my Sebs. They get CRK's greased. The Spydercos work very well with just Tuff-Glide.

Wash with soap and tepid water. Dry.
(If extremely bored, disassemble and wash all parts with WD-40. Assemble and tweak action.)
Lube with Tuff-Glide.
(If has been used extensively, sharpen with 701 Profile stones.)
Strop with a charged leather belt.

Use as necessary. Repeat as required.

+1 on the Militec. I use it on the pivots of all my folders, it's great stuff. To scrub G-10, I use good ole' Dawn dishwash detergent and a nylon brush from my gun kit. Dry everything and hit the scales with some WD-40 to bring back the luster of the G-10. Lube, Reassemble and tweak......GTG!!

My millies have been my most maintenance free knives I've ever owned. I've adjusted the pivot and put a little thread locker on the pivot screw to keep it in place then added a drop of BM Blue lube, that was 2 or 3 years ago when I got my first one and its still doing fine. Besides keeping the lint out, sharpening is about the only maintenance they need.

I spray the pivot with brake parts cleaner, and then oil it with breakfree.
