I was looking at the Paramilitary 2 and read great things about it however I was unable to find one with digital camo and a non coated blade. I have also read great things about the military. I'm not sure which one to get. Can anyone chime in and help me decide? Also for those who have used or own both, what major differences have you noticed?

thank you

Both are great, para2 is more practical from a edc role and MUCH prefer the comp lock to the liner lock on the mili

I have both and personally like the military a lot more than my para. It fits alot better in my hand has a longer blade but it also disappears in the pocket. You cant go wrong with either of them

I do not own a Military, I have handled one though. The one reason I have not purchased a Military is the tip down carry. To some this isn't a big deal, but to me it is. Hence the reason I'm voting for Para2.

Personally, I love them both but I rarely carry my Military models because they are considerable larger in the pocket, and I also love the Comp lock and tip-up carry. Here's a couple side-by-side shots to compare...

Got both Para2 sees alot more pocket time. The Mili does go on all camping/fishing trips.

Both are great knives. But Military is little too big for me. I never EDC it and not planning. Every time I hold it in my hand, I think that knife is huge. Para2 just the right size. Also I prefer compression lock. Nothing wrong with liner lock, just personal preferences.

For a EDC I should go for the Para 2. It's small and verry capable for the most tasks. I own also a Military in orange but I only use that for camping and survival.

I prefer the Para2.

There are a couple of sites on the net that show the Satin-finished Digi-cam Para2 in stock.

I have 5 PM2's, 2 PM1's and 6 Military's.... I hands down prefer to EDC the PM2's simply because they have the ability to do tip up carry, and the simple genius that the compression lock brings to the table. If they ever made a Military that was tip up right side carry with a compression lock, that would be my new EDC.... heck, I'd even bet that a tip up carry , compression lock Military would become the all time best selling knife Spyderco ever made.

It really depends on your preference of folder size AND if tip-up/down carry is an issue. I just prefer tip-up carry, so the Para 2 is my choice between the 2. While the Para 2's size is more "friendly", I'd probably get a Military if it was set-up for tip-up carry. It's not a must have, but it'd be "want" to have.

I really like the Millie. I only have 3, 2 are sprint runs in very desireable steels.

I like Big knives. The Para 2 is just too small for me.

I have both and prefer the military. It really boils down to what size knife you like, either would be a good choice.

Well....to stop you from racking your brain....buy both :)

Both are great and you will always wonder about the other one. The para is great for every day chores, the military is great if you want a larger folder.

I own a Millie XHP and a PM2 digicam Satin. I carry both on a regular basis. This MIllie is much bigger then the PM2. I use it a lot for food prep and larger cutting tasks. PM2 is more of an EDC size blade. REally, you cant go wrong with either!

Both knives have their fan bases. Personally, I've carried the Millie many times in the woods on camping trips - and my reaction every time is "gee this knife is too big to carry comfortably". The PM2, is for me, the perfect size for EDC. It virtually disappears into my left hand front pocket.

The longer blade is enticing on the Military over the P2. I have a P2 and I love it. The main reason I haven't pulled the trigger on a Millie is because of the lock. I'm not a big fan of liners and frames. Maybe someday I'll change my mind.

The PM 2 feels a little more refined and updated compared to the Military. It really depends on your preference of size, lock, and pocket clip position. Personally I like the form and feel of the Military more. The nice thing is plenty of people like both so if you buy one, you can easily sell or trade it for the other.

Never carried my military as it was just a little too big for my liking. The para 2 is about perfect.

+1 PM2. Superb knife. Out of all the knives I purchased after it, it still ends up as my edc.
