Military Patches - anyone collect them ?

If so ,hows about showing some pics of your collection ! :D


Here is my collection of authentic Serbian patches. I bought all of these on ebay several years ago from a gent in Yugoslavia.
I wish I could recall the names of the units that the patches were from , but I do recall that a few of them were from notorious units during the civil war there.

Gunnertwo here on bf.c is a major collector of military orders and honors.
 
Nice collection there. I have a few patches, mostly Russian Marines. I'll snap some pics tomorrow.

My big thing is military hats, though I like hats in general.
 
Not a patch, not a collection, just thought you may like to see this.

The hat badge and belt buckle from my days in the Mexican Military Service (1975): 1er batallon de Infanteria, Zona Militar 17, Queretaro, Mexico.

Russian Marine patches....

The two words seen on most of the patches are 'Morskaya Pehota' which translates as Naval Infantry.
 
I have these Russian pins/badges, bought them at a local mall in Mexico, I thought of them as tourist souvenirs.

I'm no expert, but the top badge looks like a Soviet military hat pin, the bottom right one looks like a Russian Federation (post Soviet) military hat pin.

The bottom left badge says Voenno-Morskoy Flot (Military Maritime Navy or Fleet) and looks to be a service badge or perhaps a commemorative for submarines during WWII.
 
BlackHills, thanks for the comments, I guess you are right, in fact the top star pin came with a shapka ushanka from one of those small carts that they use in malls, the Russian guy there told me that if I wanted a fancier pin I could get the one in the right, the one on the left is a safety pin type as for clothing, the guy had it there and I just thought it looked cool.

Funny thing is I have misplaced the hat, it's somewhere around the house, maybe the wife took it...

Not patches so much. I used to collect unit flashes when I was in the army.

The one with the combat leadership tab (ie the green felt) was mine. 1st Bn 6th Infantry. It is actually supposed to have a black alligator. 2/6 and 4/6 had green alligators. The black alligator was because 1/6 had a habit of getting itself wiped out with unfortunate regularity. The Cav is represented and I believe 1/51 inf. Some of the other units I no longer remember. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo. I do have a beret from the dutch army along with its unit insignia. A artillery unit that we trained with during an interoperability exercise in Germany. I also scored a dutch field jacket.

Luis.....I think that they use the same badge on the ushanka as they do the visor type hat, but I won't put money on that. I can't imagine you have much need for that ushanka in Mexico City. :D

KR.....The 3rd one in the top row is the 6th Cavalry. My Dad was in that unit in Germany after WWII when it was part of the Constabulary and still Armored Cav.
 
i've got a few serb paramilitary patches, also a few ARVN patches and viet nam era US patches, 2 buds work for lockheed & dyncorp and they send me a cool one occasionally, my favorite ones are some i have from the mexican police, i have some from the nuevo laredo municipal police, tamaulipas state police, PJF (policia judiciale federale) one of the more crooked police orginasations around probably, mexico or otherwise, and a couple others, a bud who lives in laredo has a cousin whos in the tamaulipas state police and i swapped him a few patches from the US military and police for his,
