Some of you convinced me to try carrying my Endura and you were right, the more I carry it the more I like it; have lots of knives but few Spydercos; am thinking about getting a Military; I have fairly large hands and like the larger blades. But I am confused by the prices wanted for Militarys; have looked at numerous sites and the prices vary so much I can't believe it; see them on the forums, too. I am not about to pay $290 for one. Any suggestions/clarifications? Thanks

Why on Earth would you consider paying full MSRP for a knife that can be had for much less? Where exactly are you looking that the price is $290?

You can get a new Millie for around $120. One of the best values in the knife world. The new Para-Millie is even less.

Some of the difference in price can likely be attributed to different blade steels. M4 or S90V will command a significantly larger price than S30V.

...and there is nothing at all wrong with the S30V Military versions.

The new Military M4 sells for around that -- MOF , one just sold today for $290 here at BF. The M4 is Titainium and that is why the price is over $100 more then most Millies.

Yep, I expect the different steels, etc. affect the prices and there are a number of places that list them around $290; nope, wouldn't consider paying the MSRP that's why the post.

All the S30V regular production versions are in the same range. Sprints, like S90V, BG-42 and the LE M4are a lot higher. The CPM-D2 is somewhere in between.

Satin CPM S30V bladed plain edge G-10 models generally sell for around 130.

DLC (black coated) versions similar to above (only black) are generally 10 bucks more.

Different steels and handle materials are available at higher prices, and some dealers will discount their serrated or combo edge models because they may be sitting in stock longer.

FWIW, I went backwards...I loved the Military long time, then tried the Endura and rarely carry the Military any more. Not a dang thing wrong with the Military (I own 5 of them) but the mid-lock is preferred by my hands and I have never had an instance where I thought I wish I had a Military instead (shrug).
