I have been checking several different websites and see that the Military RETAIL (not what the dealers are selling it for) varies from 149.95 on the Spyderco site up to 199.95 and some also listed at 174.95 these are all prices they claim are retail prices(not discounted) Why the discrepancy was there a change in the Military and some of the "old model" are cheaper or don't they really know what the retail is. I suspect the $149.95 at the Spyderco site is correct. Am I right or wrong?
Thanks
Eric

The $200 price is actually an older price than the current $150. You can get the latest model for the lower price--often for $120 or even less. The knife gets better, but the price doesn't necessarily increase. Don't ask me why. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. Great knife, by the way. I have two of 'em.

Yeah. I believe that David is right and the price of the model dropped at some point. I don't remember when that happened though. It really is weird since, by almost all accounts, the quality of the knife has risen.

Anyway, you might want to keep in mind that some dealers are going to quote an unrealistically high retail price on stuff so they can offer a bigger "discount". That may not be the case here, but you certainly shouldn't pay more than $150 for the knife.

Thank you both, that answers my question. After posting this question, I thought some dealers might be using the higher price so there was a larger discount theory. I picked one up on an auction unrealisticly cheap and just wondered what the MSRP was supposed to be.
Thanks again.
Eric

Yeah, when I was looking around for a Military the retail was $200 but I found one at Top of Texas Knives for around $110 I think it was.

Try MJ&S knives. That's where I got mine, and for less than $150. It's by far my favorite knife, EVER!!! I totally love it!
