Seems this gets asked each year from the search but any super steels getting put on the millie this year? I see that M390 is going to be released but I'd like to try a better steel on this platform. One with digicam G10 would be gravy. :D

Check out the catalog for details. I don't recall off hand, but there might be some surprises along the way.

Cruwear sounds interesting. I'm after an edc/bushcraft/camping knife so cruwear may be a good choice for that. Don't know much about it though other than it's "tough" and is a semi-stainless.

Not sure how much better than M390 you can do, but that is history anyway. Cruwear is the only sprint I think we currently know about.

Cruwear will be tougher and have higher wear resistance than D2, but not quite the wear resistance of S30V. Also, with a lower chromium content, it will be less stainless than D2. http://www.crucible.com/PDFs/DataSheets2010/dscruwearv12010.pdf http://www.crucible.com/PDFs/DataSheets2010/dsS30Vv1 2010.pdf

I am personally totally fine with non-stainless blades, but many don't seem to be, and your point on Cruwear compared to D2 compared to "normal" stainless steels is a good one.

Hmm... I'm confused. Not at the explanations, I get it. I just don't have any experience with Cruwear. Confused if I will purchase this for the Cruwear or not.

Xhp gets comparisons to D2 as well but is stainless. Whats the comparisons in terms of performance? Just wondering.

Add: nevermind, Im reading up on it. Anyone have any experience with the mule cruwear though?

Cruwear seems ho-hum to me, in terms of sprints. No slouch in general, but in a sprint, I want something like S90V, or M390. I would suspect the hype might have something to do with the cool name, and not real performance. Kind of like Super Blue, it is nothing fantastic in terms of performance, but the way it is manufactured and the name make it a steel I want to have something in regardless:D I too would like some feedback from Cruwear Mule owners.

Hard to get interested in new sprints when you already Edc the best one ever made every day.

When you bring out the big dogs first, the little ones seem to not impress later:( I still love some variety though, and new things are nice:D

They already did both M390 and CPM S90V Military's in Carbon Fiber. :)

So a step up from those would be CPM S110V and or K294 (CPM 10V).

Thanks for the feedback guys. If cruwear performs about the same as S30V I'll save my pennies to see what comes out next year I think.

Not sure about Cruwear, but the only Military sprint that I'd be interested in would be in S90V since I already have my favorite sprint version in CF/M390. :D
