Seems this gets asked each year from the search but any super steels getting put on the millie this year? I see that M390 is going to be released but I'd like to try a better steel on this platform. One with digicam G10 would be gravy.![]()
Cruwear sounds interesting. I'm after an edc/bushcraft/camping knife so cruwear may be a good choice for that. Don't know much about it though other than it's "tough" and is a semi-stainless.
Cruwear will be tougher and have higher wear resistance than D2, but not quite the wear resistance of S30V. Also, with a lower chromium content, it will be less stainless than D2. http://www.crucible.com/PDFs/DataSheets2010/dscruwearv12010.pdf http://www.crucible.com/PDFs/DataSheets2010/dsS30Vv1 2010.pdf
Not sure how much better than M390 you can do, but that is history anyway. Cruwear is the only sprint I think we currently know about.
Hard to get interested in new sprints when you already Edc the best one ever made every day.

That was a bit of ignorance on my part. I thought M390 was just ahead of S30V. I was wrong.
I chuckled.![]()
Cruwear seems ho-hum to me, in terms of sprints. No slouch in general, but in a sprint, I want something like S90V, or M390. I would suspect the hype might have something to do with the cool name, and not real performance. Kind of like Super Blue, it is nothing fantastic in terms of performance, but the way it is manufactured and the name make it a steel I want to have something in regardlessI too would like some feedback from Cruwear Mule owners.
