Just got my Military Ti and it kinda stiff. Loosened the pivot, but that made the blade off center. Oiled it and been opening and closing it quite a bit for the last 2 days. its smooth, just stiff. I've never had Spyderco I couldn't flick out the first day I got it. Do the Ti Military's require a break in period? Ive had a Cricket, PM2, Urban Wharencliff, Urban Leaf, Tenacious, Techno, Southard, and Leafstorm. This is by far my favorite and will never sell it!!!

Yes they do take some time to break in.

Mine took a couple of months with normal use and some Tuff Glide.

Mine is still a little stiff and I got it in the summer. I can flick it open but it is obviously not nearly as easy as the liner lock version and I am sure it never will be. That said some frame locks are, my ZT 0550 fly's open.

Mine too. I am getting two more so I will post back burn so far the first one is really.stiff. I can't flick it with middle finger only thumb with wrist movement. It is silky smooth tho when you open it

Just an update. After 3 days of playing with my Ti Military I can now Spydie flick it open :) Can usually get it locked up about 90% of the time. Still needs some break in, but man its fun to flick this thing!!!

I just got a Regular G-10 Millie a few weeks ago and it was stiff at first too. I played with it for a day, and the third day I put a drop of oil on each side of the pivot and it flies out now. It's almost like its natural state is to be open, and all I have to do is coax it. Everybody thinks it's an auto! I think it's faster than an auto.

It made all the difference in the world for opening it. When it wouldn't flick open the tang rubbed my hand and it felt a little akward - now it is smooth and natural. I wouldn't have guessed that the Ti version had similar break in with the frame lock and all.
