Well an opportunity finially presented itself that allowed me to buy a NIB Military Ti. One of the things I am not a fan of with the Military has been tip down carry only.

I think STR has done some low ride clips in titanium for tip-up carry on the Military Ti. Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of such a setup?? Thanks.

I'm pleased about the Military Ti. It's a holy grail knife for sure.

I did a search in STR's forum but didn't come up with any hits so if anybody has a photo it would be most appreciated. Thanks gw

I actually don't mind tip down on the Military as it rides in my right hip pocket, all the way to the right. Seems like it was made just for that spot. That said, I wouldn't turn my nose up to one of STR's mods. He does a a great job.

Well this bad boy got here and its a brute.

One question is (even after loosing the pivot screw) it kinda sticks on that initial push on the blade during opening. Any comments on this issue?

My Ti Military has a strong detent, as well. I don't mind it. I'd rather it be too strong than too weak.

My orange millie also has a very strong detent. I open it slow (thumb) so it doesn't get away from me. Pop the detent first, then worry about locking up the knife. YMMV.

A strong detent isnt an issue. It is there to hold the blade in the closed posititon. After all you would not want that big sharp blade open in your pocket would you. :D

The answer scout is Hell NO I don't want this blade getting away from me especially in my pocket.

Thanks for the comments all. I guess I'll be giving it nightly exercise while I watch TV and see if I can break it in quickly.

This knife is really a big knife...almost to big :D

I have recently gotten my old two-screw-clip Military out of the garage and started EDCing it again. Funny thing, the CPM440V blade used to chip whenever I used the thing, but it does not anymore.

Wonder if I have sharpened it to a point that the metal is a tad better? The angle is also steeper than it once was, and it still does not chip.

Maybe I'll go ahead and spring for one of the TI jobbies soon. The clip on this one stripped out the original holes, and I have re-located it as a tip-up model. I still prefer tip-down for this model, but the holes are now worthless.

I saw your youtube with STR's tipdown low rider clip. Very nice.
I can live with that I think.

thanks!
yeah it really makes the knife "perfect" IMO, the one thing i dont like about the military/paramilitary knives are the clips but i dont have to worry about it anymore........:D

I substituted my new Millie Ti for my steak knife at a dinner party tonight.
My buddies liked it and the steak was way overmatched!!
