So there I was, at another family gathering/cookout. Brother in law cooking up some very expensive steaks, so far so good.
Then they are ready and we all dig in; oops, we try to anyway, their steak knives are about as sharp as butter knives ! Out comes my Military and I start slicing the steak like IT was butter (it WAS pretty tender), soon the knife is being passed around to each person - oops careful, cut right thru the damn paper plate, ok, everyone double up on your plates. In short, a knifeknut comes thru and suddenly mmy knives don't appear so "weaponly" anymmore. May have even made a few converts, with any luck.
Anybody else have an experience like this ?

Brian, i run into a similar situation here. my wife & i usually visit a local steak house once a week, & much to our amazement, our knives seem to make their way from out from our pockets & into our hands in order to eat our food properly (C36 Military for me, C53 Peter Herbst for my wife). i think you'll be surprised at the number of people who use their Spydies for food-its more than you think. as far as converts to this preferred form of dining, i have yet to see at this at this establishment, but we sure do get some funny looks from other tables & the bar tender (he he)!

I will second that my c 36 plain edge gets a work out at the steak houses and my kitchen.
Have not fond and use for the civilian in the
kitchen though..........

Last night my wife again asked me to help her in her garden work. I eagerly said yes as this gave me the chance to use my serrated Military. I was tasked to cut some flower trees. Even though these had 1" to 1-1/2" diameters my very sharp Military proved up to the task. I used the serration like it was a saw, instead of a knife. I flexed, pull-cut, stabbed and hacked -- it took the abuse!

My Military really took the groan my wife usually hears when doing garden work

After being sprayed with ATF, my Dad and I had a huge mess to clean up(Don't ask how it happened...

), and another worker there came out with a forklift hauling 20# bags of oil dry for us. The bags open like dog food bags(with the string), so I said screw it, whipped out the military and disembowled the bag, and handed my Dad the knife. He stood there in near shock as the contents spilled out opposite sides. "Here lemme see that", He produced the same results, "Can you show me how to close this?", "where did you get that at?", I think he's addicted now cause he uses it all the time. I showed him how to open it with inertia and how to sharpen the serrations. There is a 43 year old man happy thanks to a Military.

When making plans to eat out, I always keep my Delica plain edge sans clip in my vest or jacket pocket. Light enough, non threatening, and plenty sharp! Breezes thru even well done steak.
