Are emerson knives actually used by the military? I have been told that they were issued but i see so many knife manufacturers that claim that their knives are used by the military that i am immediatly distrustful of any claims like this.

thanks in advance.

lots of them are used by folks in the service, the SOCFK model is marketd to them, i also think ernie has made some fixed blade stuff for the navy, but i dont know of any folders being an issue item, not except maybe for some small unit like navy SEALs or something similar, most folks get a "boy scout" looking folder and a bayonet, thats it in the cutlery dept, but like i said a lot of folks do buy them with there own money and carry them, as they do BM, spyderco, etc.

so i would say maybe some small runs but nothing on a major scale imho.

the SARK was designed for the US Navy Rescue Team and is issued to team members by the Navy. other than that I'm not sure

a lot of military buy them out of pocket, they have priority when it comes to sales , look at the back order list when the war on terror / iraq started. some of his knives were made at request, richard marcinco always spoke of cqc7
in his rouge warrior books. i was told he helped design the cqc8. the commander is for denis chalker (seal team 6). folders are being carried in cargo pockets, vest ect. they are more popular than a fixed with spec ops
