Does anyone know the last year for the metal utility knife? I'm thinking 2005, as I have not seen a 2006 stamped year, but I have been wrong before.

If you're talking about the demo, I believe that I saw a 2007 model and a 2005 last year at a flea market. The 2007 could have walked out the door after the closing.

The last year of production was 2006. There was no USMC or other than the standard "U.S." stamping on the handle. This has been verified by collectors who toured the Camillus factory after closing and prior to the auction, by those who attended the auction, and by Mr. Frank Trzaska - Military Knive editor of Knife World.

If anyone has their hands on a 2007 tang-stamped MIL-K-818 Military Pocket Utility Knife, I would sure like to make an offer to buy it after inspection.

2006 is the last tang date stamping, I was there and saw the parts still in the jiggs as they were left when the factory closed. No real debate on it, if you see a 2007 tang date it was not made in Camillus NY.

All the best

I do not see too many posts about the US knives. I am glad to see a few other collectors are interested in them. Attached is a picture of a few of mine.

That is a very nice collection,That is something to be proud of.:)

I believe that 2006 was the last year stamped on the model #S1760 knife. I would be surprised to see a 2007 stamped knife because the year stamping was not changed at the same time as the calender. Some years the stamping was not changed until 6 to 8 months into the new year. Usually all the old blades were used before new blades were made and stamped.
