Military vs Manix?

Greetings from Austria :)

Military - Manix - Chinook II

Thanks for posting that! I have a Manix on order and it's supposed to arrive today (fingers crossed) and I've been wondering how it compares to my Military. It looks huge! I can't wait to whip it out to open something while I stand in line with my wife at Bath & Bodyworks! I can't wait! I can't wait!

The brown truck still hasn't arrived. Where the hell is he? Usually he comes by the office around 10 or so. I hope I didn't jinx myself. I'm trying not to start pacing back and forth. I'd sure like to have that bad boy in my pocket before the weekend. This is why I mourn the death of decent knife retail. Deferred gratification sucks.

I love all three of those knives so much. Throw a Caly III in that picture and you have the four best production knives in the world, in my opinion.

My Manix came! I'm in love. It's the coolest. I've never had a knife that felt so immediately at home in my hand and in my pocket. The balance is perfect! The action is perfect! The fit and finish is perfect! It's so close to being perfect that it's freaking me out. The only thing that I can find about it that I don't like is the spot in the thumbhole where the flat grind transitions to the full stock. That's a bit of an uncomfortable spot, but it won't last two seconds under my Dremel when I get it home. Otherwise, sweet perfection! Amazing!

congratulations on the manix . i handled the mini manix and it was beautiful , looks like a pretty heavy duty folder

Thanks! I'm still pretty amped about my Manix. My first impression when I opened it was "Oh no! I think I've found The Knife!" To be honest, I don't really want to find "The Knife", because then, what's the point of continuing to buy knives? I really like searching for "The Knife", but I don't think I ever want to actually find it. After carrying and using my Manix over the weekend, my suspicions are being confirmed. Yes, it may be "The Knife". It's weird, I have a sinking sensation when I open it. It's too good. Too right. I think my search for the perfect EDC is over. I should be happy. It's a magnificent knife.

But there are still lots of other knives that I want. I may have to switch my collecting activity over to traditional folders for a while. Lots of fertile ground there.

I handled one last week and can't stop thinking about it. Too close to Christmas to buy myself a knife of that caliber. I fell in love when I heard the lock up, and it fit so nice in my hand that it was hard to walk out of the shop without a new spydie in my pocket.
Congratulations on your new knife.
