Military vs Socom Elite?

I am considering purchasing a plain-edge Military for my weak-hand carry knife. How does the Military compare to my current large carry folder, the Microtech Socom Elite? I'm interested in information on how it rides in the pocket, edge holding, edge durability, etc...

Thanks,
Kevin

The Mil is a better user...lighter, easier to open, and cuts better. Its liner lock looks a bit cheesy next to the microbar but still is hellastrong. My SOCOM is still my daily carry though, probably because I mirror polished the blade by hand which tends to build up a bond

If your off hand is the right side then it would do just fine.

A draw to the reverse grip is really the only option since the Military is made only with the pocket clip for right side pocket carry. But then one may just draw, flip it, regrip then deploy the blade. Up to the user.

Nakano, my right hand is my weak hand. My left pocket is reserved for a Joel Chamblin Maverick or my soon to arrive dark blue DR Apogee.

I don't own a Socom Elite, just the older model Socom. Both knives have excellent means of opening the knife with the off-hand. The Military has a nice XL thumbhole, but the older Socom has relatively small thumbstuds compared to the Military. For that, I'd vote for the Military. But the Elite now has bigger thumbstuds, so my argument may be in vain. The military lets you do secure 'gravity openings' really really fast. The Elite may be more stylish though, the Military is all function.
