I have the para2 cts-20cp with that nice big lanyardhole.
And liked that look of it.
So made one for my military cts-xhp :

See youtube :"spyderco military with bigger custom lanyardhol"

Let me know what u think about it.

That does look cool and it seems more proportionate to the overall size of the Millie handle.

Personally, I've never understood what a lanyard would be used for on a folding knife other than to help pull it from your pocket. It makes no sense in that case, other than to decorate, to have a lanyard on a tip-down-only knife. For this reason, I've never understood why the lanyard holes where ever incorporated into the Millie and Para design. Maybe Sal thought the soldier/end-user would tie a wrist lanyard on for doing heavy work but that also doesn't seem very practical because clearly the Military and Para 1/2 aren't meant to be substitutes for a good fixed blade.

Hmmmmm, I wonder.

I see your big lanyard hole, and I raise you a cts-xhp g10/ti RIL military. I just finished it, pics in a few..

or maybe he thought some of them will want to carry their milie in molle pouches tip up with the lanyard hanging for easy extraction. or just clip removed in the pocket with the lanyard hanging.

just a thought.

Pwet is correct,
The methods he describes are my #2 and #3 carry methods, when my brown mili isn't clipped in. Although there's no need for a larger hole, I had to remove the cord from my lanyard to make it fit. For this reason, bigger is better.

That makes sense. I've never thought about carrying a knife in a molle pouch but I'm also not a soldier so I'm not surprised. I have heard of people removing the clips and carrying in the pocket but it's usually been with smaller knives. I suppose a Millie could be small to a giant beast of a man.

Looks Great! But before we chalk it up as CQI, does is strengthen or weaken the lower grip area? In stock form, the grips flex when you pinch them. Has that improved/strengthened?

If I had to lash this thing to a spear (to stab the crafty El Llorona, lets say), larger would be an advantage, allowing more passes through the hole with the cord..

If there is going to be a military V2.0 , that probaly one of the new features the lanyardhole.
Plus some biggger screws in the handle for more strenght.
