Military?

I haven’t heard or seen anything indicating any new military variants for a long time. I believe the REX 45 sprint was the most recent. The lack of dealer exclusives makes me think the model doesn’t sell enough to make it worthwhile to make exclusives (although it is by far my favorite spyderco model, and possibly folding knife ever).
Or is the Millie 2 really coming soon and everyone knows about it but me? I’d get one to have it of course, but couldn’t see preferring it to the regular pattern. If anyone has insight, concerns or wants to share any Millie news I may have missed, please reply.

This year I bought an S110V in a brick and mortar shop and an S90V on ebay. I am also bidding on a fluted Ti right now. I might even buy the Digicam/DLC one. I think I will be good even without any new models. But they are coming. Hopefully a 15V sprint and possibly others. The next reveal is near, it would be surprising to see a Millie 2 so soon though! An AEB-L or Z-Tuff run would make me happy enough.

Unless you're just into the "latest and greatest," there are more than enough Millie variants than you can shake a stick at. Anything you'd want has already been made and is already out there.

What else could you possibly want in the way of a Millie variation?

Personally, I own 5 Millie variations and that doesn't even begin to scrape the bottom on what's available in the 2ndary market and IMO I really don't need to buy another.

I put up a poll a while back about a St Nick's 4V military and sent the results to them via email. There's a small but vocal group on Spyderco forums ( thread Started by Blues) that talks up the military and possible variants in the future.

I'm sure we'll see a Purple G10 Cruwear, 4V Red G10, And possibly others in the future...time will tell. I'm in for sure on any new Military Sprints and exclusives.

I'd be happy seeing an updated version in CPM Cru-Wear, plus 3V and 4V personally.

I already have variants with high edge retention. I'd like to see a focus on toughness for a knife with "Military" as its inspiration.

I own militaries representing all major variants and steel types made so far except for the forum knife from 2000. Guess I’m a nut and just want em all!

I’d like to see one offered in S45VN, Ti slabs or OD green G10. I’d be all over that.

Now we’re talking! I’d be down with any of those. Frankly, I was kind of surprised and a little disappointed they didn’t offer a green diamond arc S45VN military to complement the pm2 and para 3.

Wasn’t there talk of a Millie in development with a compression lock?

That must be a huge collection and there's certainly nothing wrong w/that.

We each have to decide what's important to us in persuing our passion. I prefer to collect a wide variety of models (rather than focus on particular ones) but I do buy a limited range of variants for specific models that I am particularly fond of, which (in my case) includes the Millie, Police & Native (for each of which I own 5 variants) but in most cases I only one one-offs (or pairs) of each model.

If I didn't do that, I'd own WAY more than the 146 Spyders that I already own.

LOL! ;)

Tip up carry.

A Military with a DLC coated CTS-XHP blade with bright orange g10 scales, just like the Cutlery Shoppe Shaman released today, would be fantastic. The burnt orange color looked OK in the beginning but I definitely prefer the brighter color especially coupled with DLC blades.

A military with Micarta scales (any color) and K390 steel would be great too. I'm less interested in CF scales or R.I.L lock with ti side on the Military platform. Stick to G10 and/or micarta to keep the price manageable.

A micarta military would be incredible!
