Militec-1 Grease!!

I received a tube as a sample request a couple years ago. It was unexpected as I only requested a sample of their oil. It's a fairly large tube so it's going to last a lifetime no doubt.

It sat in my knife kit for those two years as I was only using Militech-1, tuf-glide and balistol. A few months ago I received my Bradley Alias 1. A few days ago I decided to see how the Militec-1 Grease preformed in the knife. I dissembled, cleaned and applied a sufficient amount to the blade.

I am impressed. It doesn't wash out and the blade is just as fast as it was with oil. I think I found my new lubricant for these types of knives.

Anyone used it and CRK grease? How do they compare?

EDIT: MY APOLOGIES TO THE MODS FOR INITIALLY POSTING THIS TO THE WRONG FORUM.

Mil Tech -1 is meant to be applied as a break in for fire arms. Using it on a knife gives you good lubricity at first but, without the heat it only breaks down and accumulates pocket lint. Break free is old school and it works. Give it a try.

I've only used the Miltec-1 liquid/oil form. I only use grease on the slides of my pistols and the hinges of my skeet guns.

I heat the pivot really hot with a blow dryer and apply a drop to top (right & left) and bottom (right & left), then work it several times.

I wipe up any excess with q-tips or a rag. I continue to heat it 3 or 4 times for 24 hrs. until there's no excess showing anywhere.

2nd day repeat - 3rd day repeat and I have a heat bonded layer of Miltec-1 in my pivot and have experience NO problems of any kind whatsoever.

I love the stuff but it's a pain to do it that way. I think I read this method on their website or maybe on a knife forum - either/or - it's great lube.

If it's working for you maybe some heat will liquify it and it'll run out under the heat of a hot blow dryer and you can wipe up the excess & experience the same properties as the oil? :)

Yeah I got that advice from I think tuf-glide...nut sure may have been militec. When I applied the grease I heated it up with a hairdryer but I didn't repeat the process. I think I'll take your good advice and repeat several times.

So far it's working out beautifully. I am interested to know how it measures up to CRK grease so if nobody knows maybe I'll purchase a syringe and do a comparison...then post my findings.
