Almost all of us have heard how good this stuff is according to knives, fishing gear and guns. Well, it doesn't end there.

Yesterday evening I discovered a f.. tic sitting on my leg and sucking the holy life out of me. Well, I was delirious (you know, Borrelia, TBE and such).

While running around like a displaced chain saw I thought; wtf, why not try Militec 1. Afterall, they do say that it's good for almost everything, from heart disease ( ;) ) to motor enginges.

Well, there was not much to lose, so I gave it a try. And voila: The tic let go almost immediately and was laying dead when pulled out of my poor leg. Conclusively, I wonder what impact the stuff has on you skin? I suppose somewhat equivalent to a Tracer Glow Ring? :D :D

I'll be trying Militec-1 on my next tick! Who cares what it does to my leg, if it kills the little bastards I'd use hydrochloric acid and leave a crater there. Whenever I try to carefully pull them out I usually end up with a little piece of head left in there.

Yet another reason to carry around some fine Cuban cigars.

Exactly. Unfortunately, this is what happened, despite Militec 1. Now, the wound is red and swollen :(

I hate those little bastids. Next time I'll be wearing a pair of Wellingtons.

The key to proper tick removal is pinching with fingernails or using tweezers right at the skin, so that when the tick is removed, you should see a ragged piece of skin stuck to the head of the tick.

I discovered that carbonated beverages kill bees almost instantly, while plain water is mostly harmless. Perhaps some soda might do the trick the next time if militec is not available.

I also recently found that hand sanitizing alcohol gels will take down ants (also unharmed by water or even liquid alcohol), though it is hard to say how fast because they are immobilized by the thickness of the substance.

If it was a deer tick you need to use Break Free CLP or Rem oil, hunting lubes not that military stuff. Did you get your Lymes disease vacination!?

No, unfortunately not :( I'm doomed  I wonder how deers and other animals cope with these bloodsuckers. I was in the brush for a little while, they are there all the time. Maybe they use some kind of animal version of Militec :D
