Can somebody tell me the oven method for applying militec?
And with the hairdryer method, all you do is heat it up and then add the militec right?
Any help is much appreciated.

Also i just want to give props to militec sales dept.I ordered a bottle on wednesday, and it showed up at my house today which is saturday, pretty damn quick if you ask me.

Well what I do goes like this:

1. Clean it
2. Heat it up with my heat gun for about 10 seconds on each side.(I aim the heat gun at the joints)
3. Apply miltec-1 to the joints. 1 drop per each piviot.4 drops in all
4. Move it around a little. (Make sure that its in the joints)
5. Repeat the steps from 1 - 4 or I let it sit over night.
6. Morning comes and I wipe off the exces miltec-1.
7. (Most important step) Manipulate the hell out of it.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D (redo in about 2-3 or so weeks)(or when it starts to squeak really bad):barf:

As for the baking way, wouldnt that hurt the temper of the blade ?

I scrub it with a toothbrush and dishwashing liquid, rinse, then pour rubbing alcohol on it. Then I apply the Militec-1 and stick it in my toaster oven. I found this much easier and effective than using my hairdryer.

I turn my oven to >200 degrees, and I believe that isn't hot enough to affect the blade's temper.

Chinese Man:

I don't know how high the temper temperature is for 12C27, but I'm sure the oven method, the heat gun method or the blow dryer method would affect the temper of the blade. Check the aforementioned link to Chuck's website for his method of applying Militec-1. Me, I'm just waiting for my wife to wake up from her nap to do mine. :D:D

I don't know what BM's heat treating profile for 12C27 looks like, but the lowest heat treating temperature used for just about any steel is above 300F. Water boils a little over 200F. So, as long as you don't get the blade hot enough to boil water, then you have at least 100F of margin to any affect on temper.

SO I could just take it outside for a little while and flip it around. Between the temp and the friction I'm sure it'll get up there.
