Militec for Sebbies?

I picked up some Militec lube from 1sks and have been using it to lube all of my knives but my Sebenza. Is militec appropriate for a knife with tolerances as fine as a Sebby?

Hi Alec,
I would use what Chris recomends, fluorinated grease. It is sold in a little syringe(sp?) and works really great! Buy it right from CRK.

...it gummed up the action of the knife. It was actually applied to the washers themselves while the knife was disassembled, and as suggested, I heated the pivot area with a hairdryer post-application of the lube.

Militec works GREAT with my knives that have Teflon, Nylatron, and other types of washers. With my small Seb., it's either the tolerances or the bronze washers/bushing that don't work well with Militec. Breakfree, on the other hand, works great for me, but doesn't have the stay-power that CR's goop-in-a-tube does. Just my recent experience...

I didn't like Militec or Tuf-glide in mine. CRK's fluorinated grease is great if you have the knife apart. I've had the best luck with White Lightening.

I've used Militec on my Sebenza, auto knives, and all my pistols for a long time. My Sebenza works so "slickly" that to close it all I have to do is slide the frame lock over with my thumb and gravity does the rest. Militec is the best lube I've ever used. I do the "hair dryer" thing aso.

Works fine on mine...

I dislike the grease as it attracts fluff quite badly. Tuf Glide was poor on the Sebi, but MT1 works fine for me.

I've been around the block and back as to what works best for me on the Sebenza. They say you really don't even need to oil the pivot! I don't know about all that, but I've been using Bill Wilson's Ultima-Lube lately. It's not sticky at all and seems to work great on the bronze washers. I just apply a small drop on either washer when assembling my large or small Sebbie's.

The oil comes in a syringe works well on my firearms as well. You can get it from www.wilsoncombat.com. This stuff is really good! It won't bind up or attrack lint or dirt.

I use White lightning on some of my other folders and it's pretty good. But I don't think it's something on want to use on my Sebenza's. Just personal preference. It does leave a film on the blade, and as soon as applied, tends to run, but dries extremely fast. Then hard to remove. I haven't tried yet, but maybe coating just the washers first before assembly of the Sebenza would work best when use White Lightning.;)
