What size bottles of each lubricant (grease and oil) do you get in the sample?

Another thing I thought of after posting: Some people have said that when you apply militec you should first heat your knife in an oven. I'm not worried about the temper being destroyed because I've read a few places that as long as you stay under 300 F you should be fine. My question is what temperature exactly should you heat it to, and also, what temperature can the plastic handle of my Benchmade 556 withstand before warping, melting, etc.?

As far as the size of sample you get, I have no clue. I just requested one myslef, buy who cares, it FREE.

As to heating the knife, I wouldn't put it in the oven. That actually might be dangerous to the temper. Most ovens aren't all that accurate, and I don't believe that you need to get the metal that hot to see the full benefit of the Militec-1. What I have done, and found to be quit effective, is apply a few drops of Militic, then heat the pivot area with a hair dryer. Work the action a bit, then let it rest. Repeat one or two more times, and you will notice a smoother action. At least I have found this to be true. I believe I originaly got this advice from Chuck on his balisong website. You can see his original work here http://www.balisongcollector.com/militec1.html . HTH.

WHOA,
dont stick it in the oven,When using militec all you need to heat things up is a blowdryer.

As for the samples, the size of the lube "they call it metal conditioner"is a fairly small sample in a little squeeze bottle. The grease that you get,if you requested it also,Is more then you will ever need.

I use the grease on my 1911 and garand about 15 times each and still have half a tub.

Heating Militech?
I've heard of preheating metal for Sentry-Solutions, but I never heard that for Militech...

Are you guys sure?

I heated my spyderco stainless model knives with a hairdryer and applied militec to the hot knives. It made a huge difference in the smootheness of the action. It is great stuff.

The hairdryer deal works good, I wouldnt try putting it in the oven.
If you're looking for Miltec, email Nakano2 on this forum, he has a good, cheap source.
