Hello Everyone, I have found my grandfathers fireman's axe, although he wasn't a fireman he did have fireman friends and I know he lived in upstate NY in his younger days, but that's over a thousand miles from where he finely settled down. His axe is stamped MILL HALL,But above it is stamped MA.The axe head measures 11" from Blade to pick end and 5" on the cutting edge. It is 36.5" long overall. Just like to know a little about it. Thank You
Okay, having a hard time with the photos.
Here's the link to the photos if you want to see the marks. https://photos.app.goo.gl/JjvLrj5M3jZdrWAW8 below Is how they appear vertically on the pick side

Looks like a standard fire axe. Compare to Mann Edge Tool or Council Tool's fire axe.

Mill Hall is a small community in central Pennsylvania. They have a volunteer fire department.

It is factory maker's mark
Mill Hall factory burned down in 1926, so it was made between 1903 and 1926
Later models were stamped Lewistown, Pa

Mann Edge Tool above Mill Hall (ca. 1910).

From what I had found on the web it seems as they acquired more contracts for fireman axe's I could understand just the simple Mill Hill stamp. But does anyone have an opinion on the MA stamp? I have searched and can't find anything close to that type of marking and everything I've seen has the full Mann stamp. One other thing I was wondering,I know it's hard to see in the photos, but the axe's original color is black,is that just how they did it back then?
Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer,I appreciate it.
