I was lucky enough to acquire Millenium Apogee #5 over the weekend. I think I have traced it's ownership history. I know who owns #4. I was wondering who has the other three, if different from the original purchasers. I would be extremely interested in pictures to see the differences, if any. I know that #4 and #2 have damascus blades. #2 looks like it has a narrower blade. Any help will be appreciated.

BTW Darrel, this is one sweet knife, one that I will never part with (and that is saying a lot

).

Take care,
Chris

I have #1, and am the original owner. The knife has a rather wide three bar turkish damascus blade. Sorry, no picture.

#3 here...I'm the original owner, and I've really enjoyed the knife over the last few months. No special modifications or surprises on mine; it's just the "standard" Millennium Apogee with the 420V blade. I did ask Darrel to leave the damned clip off of mine though

...he was kind enough to accommodate me by removing the clip and filling the mounting holes with customized screws (he sent me the clip along with the knife just in case I fell in among the heathen and felt obliged to re-install it). It is a sweet knife...

I also had the evil clip removed, same as UJ.

I posted this over in the "custom" forum and am reposting here.

I have #2 and am the original owner. I was lucky enough to get in early, twice, and get it. You can see this in the original thread that #1 and #2 went to the same first posts. The blade is a little narrower, I think, from standard. DDR used some of his "unfolded" damascus for the blade. Darrel says that this is the ONLY small with this blade steel.

If you look closely at the pictures of the knife you may see that the "screws" are in different positions from the normal small Apogee. That was an extra cost option added after the first blade for the knife "bit the dust" during heat treat IIRC.

Here and here are pics of the knife. There is a clip on the back side of the knife. I use it more to keep the knife from rattling around in my keys than anything else.

It's a great knife that never fails to impress any who see it. Too bad I don't carry it often. Way too many $$ for an "every-day" user. However I have, and will, continue to carry it as one of my "dress" knives to use but not abuse.

I was the owner of the #5. Had to sell it to raise some much needed cash. Wish I still had it.

They are great knives

Did you guys notice in the AG Russels "cutting edge" there is an apogee listed for $990. Is this a typo or for real. It's a large, 420v, with the nugetting. I don't have a millenium model, but I've got #2 of the original large apogee, first run slimer blade (which is as I like it!)

Thanks for the input, guys/gals. I am happy to be a member of the "club". Does anyone have their clip mounted on the pivot end? I saw a couple of picks of small Apogees in this configuration.

BH,

I'm sorry for your loss of #5 (but not TOO sorry

). I will cherish the knife and keep it in great condition.

Take care,
Chris

Jerry - you sure it wasn't a DA? If not, I suspect that it is a typo. I can't recall exactly but the large Apogee is around $500 and the nuggeting option is $75 extra.

Chris,

I'm glad to know that it's in good hands

. It still stings a little thinking about selling it.

Dexter, I'm figuring typo, but it is not a DA. it's missing that "extra" screw and there is no mention in the description that it is a DA (I figure that is something that they would advertise)

Just wondering if a large is worth that much!

Bunch of stuff on their list seems to start off overpriced and slowly come down in price until it gets close to market value. Some good deals though.
