I wanted to start a thread of those knives that we think everyone should own at least one time in their life; for this I coined the phrase 'millennium knives' because I couldn't think of anything better to call it. These knives can be big or small, in any shape and size (I don't want to exclude the axe, tomahawk, or machete guys out there). I want to be clear that I'm not talking about 'grail knives', but rather those knives that you would be crazy not to buy or at least see once in your life because they are so high value, legendary, or just plain work horses. I expect we will all know pretty much every knife in this thread, but if you have a little known knife that you think fits the bill, I would be excited to see it posted here.

Some examples that come to mind for me:

-Moras (any of them)

-opinels

-buck 110

-kershaw skyline

Post what you think are 'millennium knives'. Include pics if you have them.

EDIT: It would seem this has already been done.... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...-in-their-life!

My mistake. MODS please delete this thread.

Sebenza 21. Whether or not you have the funds to buy one, every knife collector needs to at least handle one - it's the standard to which all modern folders should be compared.

I personally can't allocate the funds for one, but I admit she is a beautiful knife. Seems to be a pretty high standard to set though.

Is this anyone should have or a knife collector should have?

But back to the point I think everyone should get a utilitac..cheap enough that people not into knives won't feel bad about buying one, steel isnt the worst out there (not the best either :D) and you can beat it up and it will just take it like a champ.

Hahahahaha I havent seen that thread until now. Thats embarassing. Well I'm content with just reading through that post. Can the Mods Delete this thread? I dont want to beat a dead horse.

LOL It's ok, brother. I was just razzing you a bit. Listen, let me give you the short view of that thread:

80% of the posts: "OMG BUY A SEBENZA!!"
The last 20% was split evenly between the Buck 110, an Opinel, and the almighty SAK (Swiss Army Knife).
