Not long ago I came across these two knife companies and have been thinking about buying a new knife from one of them . They each make different styles but both seem to be making some interesting and tough knives . Survive uses some great steal and have what look like good sized , comfortable handles . Miller Bros . have some big swards and thick bulletproof blades that seem aimed at the Busse market .

How do you think they fair against companies like ESEE , Busse Combat , Blind Horse or Bark River ?

Miller Brothers is what I planned on buying before I stumbled across Fallen Oak Forge. I was looking for 5160 specifically though, and admittedly don't have much interest in the others you listed. Well, aside from Busse but their current offerings aren't very appealing to me.

I have owned Miller Brothers products and they are bomb-proof. They aren't sexy and glamorous, but they sure are solid! I sold the one I had because the balance was bit off, but I'd like to try another of their offerings....haven't gotten around to it.

Survive makes no frills working knives, not too sure about the GSO 10 (personal opinion only on GSO 10 design), but based on 4.1 I have I'd buy up to 7" knives without much deliberation.
Miller Bros... no personal experiences, they don't look bad, but they seem to have quite a bit of frills...

I have a first production GSO-10 and I love it. It is an absolute beast when it comes to chopping. It has a nice weight forward blade that helps with chopping. I only wish it had a forward lanyard hole but that's not a deal breaker for me. I love the fact that it's made from CPM-3V and comes with a well made kydex sheath. The newer ones have a better made handle than mine. I highly recommend any of the Survive Knives. My GSO-10 is definitely a keeper. I still need to test out my GSO-6 and my GSO-4.

I've owned a lot of what you are comparing and have mostly settled on SURVIVE! knives for myself. I like the everything about them from the company to the materials used, process, etc. The ergos are great for me and I really use them. I've cleaned several dear this year with a 4.1 and use my 6.0 a good bit as well. I use a 6" fixed blade like most folks would use a 4 or 5" primary fixed blade (big guy, big hands). Other than my 3.5 which will be in my EDC rotation, that covers most of my needs.

I think more than anything the performance aspect of blade steel, heat treat, ergonomics, all of that and how it relates to you and your intended use is more important than my opinion. Just get some stuff and try it out. It's the only way you'll really know for sure what works and what doesn't.

Having own a few S!Ks, two first production 4.1s, a pre-production 5.1 and a 5.1 in 3V, all have top notch F&F and comes very, very sharp. They are designed as no frills tools and easy to perform maintenance. Although their turn around time has room for improvement, their CS is pretty cool.
Have a 3.5 inbound, 100% sure it's going to stay in my EDC as it fit's my needs perfectly.

I've got a GSO 5.1 I waited 6 months to receive. It was worth the wait. It's a great tool. The handle is comfortable, my hand doesn't get fatigued like it did on my old BHK woodsman pro. the heat treat on the 3v is awesome. I processed a load of wood to make a fire (feathersticking and battoning) and it was still easily shaving hair off my arm. i feel the knife is worth more than i paid for it. and It goes with me everywhere. I can't give an opinion on the Miller Bros though

OH YEAH ! Just scored a Survive GSO 5 :D It should be on it's way . From all I have read and watched on Youtube I'm excited to get my hands on it and test it out in the mountains here .

I got a m27 4.5in miller bros knife in today and I am very impressed. Knife is a little heavy which is acceptable because it indeed feels bomb proof. Its not a big blade but it's a quarter inch thick at the spine.

The guy I got it from didn't have a belt loop/clip on the sheath that it came with so I called(after their business hours I might add) MBB to see what my options were. He gave me a very good deal on what I needed and I was impressed by the level of customer service.
