I just viewed two custom-made Bali-Songs at a Miami, Florida Gun&Knife show. The pair was made by a man named Miller, late of Largo, Florida. According to the dealer, himself a custom knifemaker, these two knives are not pre-owned. He acquired them after Miller passed away some eight years ago. The blades are both weehawk and are beautifully crafted in ATS-34 steel, with the grinding going right to the spine. The handles are light and have cuadrangular inserts of a marble-like material. There is practically no wobble and the knife rests in the hand in a very comfortable way. I had to resist the temptation of flipping it, and for good reason: these two beauties are worth $800 each. Since I wasn't about to sell my car to get one of these balis, I just collected the dealer's card and told him I would probably contact him later. Anyone here ever heard of Miller, as a maker of Bali Songs? He might be a famous one, for all I know. On the evidence of his handiwork, though, I would say that he certainly was a skilfull and inspired craftsman. Sorry, no photos, of course.
