Milli question Blade Center-

A lot of folks complain about off center blades with the Millie. I used to get bent out of shape over this issue but am evolving into a sane person now. ;)

I have a few Military’s and my newest the Digi Camo with Black blade (what a beauty). OK, so the blade is off like 15% to one side.

I have read the fixes posted here and am not looking for another.
This knife functions properly and is not hitting the liner.

If I’m correct???????

There is no reason to start messing with back spacer screws and pivot to fix. There is no reason to believe (I’m asking here) that it will move further and is only a cosmetic issue…….
Am I right?

Thanks

An off-center blade that isn't rubbing the liner will cause no problems, and I doubt the condition will worsen.

Both my Millies have that problem, off center to the same side. Same with my Rock Lobster, which is more or less the same type of construction. I consider it normal.

It's obviously up to the induvidual, as long as their happy, but I wouldn't call it normal. Most manufacturers are targeting center.

I find it well worth the time it takes to center up my blades for my total satisfaction.:)

Condition1, you are correct in what you say but you don't sound like you are totally satisfied.

I have two Millies and they are both on center. If I buy a third, and I am very close to doing just that, and if that Millie wasn't dead on center, I would not be a happy camper, not on a knife I paid over a c note for.

I feel that is just normal spyderco fit and finish. Some are centered and some are a lil bit off ... Doesn't bother me at all ... Iv said it before to those complaining about this matter " if u want perfect buy a sebenza"!!!

Sure, I would love it if they were centered, but they don't touch the liners, and in 3 knives of the same construction I had a hard time justifying being too annoyed about it. I tried to take one of the Millies apart and just stripped a screwhead in the backspacer, so figured I wasn't meant to take it apart and left it at that.

Trust me, live with it. Or, if you can't, hand pick one, if possible.

I remember I attempted to fix the last one and stripped the screws at the back spacer. I’m using Wiha Torx drivers and applied the correct pressure. If these screws don’t want to move they just plain strip. A problem I have on Spydies more than others. This is why I don’t like to fiddle with expensive Spydercos if not necessary. The last Milli went back after my (screw up) and I got bent out of shape over the whole thing.

This is not a thread for me to complain. Just wondering what others experience who have off center blades and leave it as is. You guys have experience on the issue.

It was a previous thread by “Lycosa” that brought me to the conclusion that it may not be a problem. So I will trust you and live with it since everyone says it’s A-OK. :)

I thank you and my OCD thanks you all. :D
