I was at the gun range the other day and my Spyderco Military (black blade w/ digi cam scales - s30v) got really dirty - I disassembled the knife and dunked all the parts in soap water - and then I dunked them in fresh water to remove the soap, then I lubed up the blade and pivot area. Should have to worry about rust at all?

Also, should I apply lock tite to all the screws on the knife to ensure that then won't come loose on their own, or will they be fine just as they are?

Thanks in advance, guys!! :thumbup::thumbup:

I wouldn't think rust would be a problem as long as you got the knife dried completely and got the blade & pivot lubed a bit. The steel used for liners is usually a bit more corrosion resistant than blade steel. I do a lot of dirty work with a digi-cam S30V Para (that gets cleaned with running water occasionally) and I don't have any issues with rust. Your Millie shouldn't be any different.

I don't need or use Loctite on any of mine when I d/a them, although I have to add that I don't d/a mine very often, even to clean them. Running water and comperssed air work just fine for me.

You don't need to worry about rust, unless you leave it in a damp condition. As long as you dry it off properly it should be fine.

Loctite shouldn't be necessary, as far as I know. Can't hurt to use it though.

Instead of locktite, use some teflon tape if you notice the screw working itself out. Works like a charm for me.
